What is a
Family Content
Network?
We've coined the term "Family Content Network"
(FCN) to describe a network of online digital content,
assets and properties managed by families, for families.
This phrase was first coined in our blog "This
Invention: A Family Content Network".
Officially, then, a Family Content
Network is a "linked web of cross-referenced online properties
and related digital content, woven together with a binding
semantic theme (such as Family Services), and provided and
managed through the efforts, expertise and knowledgebase of a Family Unit". Unofficially, it's basically a
web-ring or online conglomerate on steroids, where
the "ring" includes not only websites, but articles,
documents, content snippets, links, forum postings -
any discrete digital asset than can be managed
and reused.
“Semantic
theme” simply means a shared method of organizing and
describing things within the context of your family activities
(a.k.a. a "taxonomy" – so you’re all on the same page,
speaking the same language. The business objective of an FCN
is like most others; low-cost, efficient start-up for
recurring, high-yield revenue providing investors and
customers consistent, high-quality value.
Welcome
to our Family Content Network, we hope you find useful
products and services for you and your
family! |
